ARTWORK

For a truly immersive interactive museum or exhibition experience, believability is critical. From an artistic point of view, this means attention to detail. I take pride in delivering the most effective visuals possible, producing hand crafted original artwork that is then visually textured, weathered and aged before production to resemble authentic relics or period pieces.

This example demonstrates two large format hanging medieval tapestries produced for the Richard III Visitor Centre in Leicester. One piece demonstrates the family tree's of the Houses of Lancaster & York, whilst the other identifies the key battle sites from the subsequent Wars of the Roses.

I also produced artwork for two medieval hanging pub signs in a woodcut artwork effect representing both the White and Blue Boar from Richard's heraldic device's before and then during his reign.

These hand painted medieval style illuminated borders were produced for the Royal Armouries in Leeds. The artwork was used in supporting literature promoting the 600th anniversary exhibition of the Battle of Agincourt.

English longbows and arrows were inter-woven into the traditional styled foliage.

Hand illustrated large format, medieval stained glass style, illuminated artwork displays from the Eilean Donan Castle visitors centre.

The first panel depicts the arrival of Bishop Donnán of Eigg (also known as Donan) a Gaelic priest, who likely heralded from Ireland in the 7th Century. Here he attempted to introduce Christianity to the Picts of northwestern Scotland during the Early Middle Ages.

Donnán is the patron saint of Eigg, an island in the Inner Hebrides where he was later martyred. According to tradition, a pagan Pictish queen had him and 150 others burnt which is depicted in the second window. He is thought to be buried at Kildonan, on the Isle of Arran. Saint Donnán's feast day is 17 April.
